A little bit about me…

I’ve been performing and composing music for many years, mainly based around the guitar. However, during the dark times of 2020 I discovered a beacon of light which was modular synthesis. This opened a whole new chapter of creativity and fulfilment in my life that I have been exploring ever since. To date this has resulted in me releasing nine studio albums; performing at several UK music festivals; sharing the stage performing with world renowned musicians including Andy Edwards, John Jowitt, Jack Jennings, and Robyn Groucutt; and even supporting one of my all-time favourite bands, Ozric Tentacles.

Away from the music studio I have worked in both further and higher education for over ten years as well as running a successful music education business for over twenty years. I am currently the programme lead for the BA (Hons) Creative Industries degree course at Kidderminster College, part of the Newcastle College University Centre group, as well as teaching across several different FE music courses.

As of 2023 I am embarking on a PhD in electronic music composition centred around modular synthesis.

Most of my professional life has been devoted to developing and supporting musicians to thrive and unlock their creative potential, discovering their own unique style and voice. Music is a passion for me, whether it be listening to undiscovered artists, creating music in innovative new ways, or developing the next generation of artists.

In addition to teaching, I have also published a book which covers the skill of learning a musical instrument and how best to approach practice – Practice Made Perfect.

I also enjoy drinking tea and playing computer games.
